FAQs

WHEN WILL MY BOX ARRIVE?

Boxes are shipped Monday - Wednesday to reduce the likelihood of getting caught over the weekend. If you live within 30 miles of our farm, we will personally deliver your box. If not, we will be ship it directly to your door via UPS. Your package will arrive 1-2 days after shipping. You'll receive a tracking # the day your box ships.

WILL MEAT ARRIVE FROZEN?

Our meat is flash frozen at the peak of freshness and individually packed in an eco-friendly cooler. We include ice packs or dry ice to ensure it remains frozen. The meat should be cold to the touch when it arrives.

WHAT CUTS ARE IN MY BOX?

We typically provide a well-balanced assortment of steaks, roasts, and easy-to-cook items like ground beef and tips. However, the exact breakdown is all up to you. If you select a Variety Box, we figure out your favorites. That way, we only send you the cuts you and your family most enjoy, and none of that kidney or tongue (to each their own). Each month is an opportunity to try something new. As well as, step-by-step recipe guides to help you cook the perfect dish every time.

DO YOU FEED ANTIBIOTICS OR HORMONES?

No. None of our animals processed for human consumption are given antibiotics or growth hormones. (If the animal must be treated with antibiotics to save their life, they are pulled from our grass-finishing program.)

ARE THE CATTLE FINISHED WITH GRAIN?

Never. From the moment our animals are weaned from their mothers, they consume high-quality forage for the rest of their lives. Not only is grain-finish counter to the values of grass-fed farming, but a change to a starchy grain diet can undo omega 6:3 ratios and CLA values in 30 days.

WHAT DO CATTLE EAT IN THE WINTER?

When snow makes grazing impossible, we feed our cattle hay. Our hay is a diverse mixture of pasture grasses harvested and stored once dry made ourselves. Most of which is baleage: fresh pasture grass cut at optimal freshness, stored and vacuum packaged while moist to preserve nutrients.

WHAT DOES THE USDA GRASS FED PROGRAM ENTAIL?

The USDA Grass Fed Program for Small and Very Small (SVS) Producers was designed to create opportunities for small-scale livestock producers who would like to have their ruminant animals certified as grass fed. This program is for producers who market 49 cattle or less each year.

This program requires that ruminant animals be fed only grass and forage, except for milk consumed before weaning. Animals certified under this program cannot be fed grain or grain by-products and must have continuous access to pasture during the growing season.
